Current Plans
Sprite pups are excelling in a variety of dog sports, including schutzhund, ringsport, agility, tracking, obedience, herding, sledding, and dock diving!
Sprite Tervuren has two breedings planned within the next year. Our females are also working and competition dogs so puppies must be fit in around their careers.
"Lyric" - Sprite's Dynamic Fanfare - Lyric is an all purpose ranch dog. She is actively involved in the daily management of livestock on Timberland Acres Ranch in Washington state. She is strong enough to move intractable animals, but obedient and well behaved with easier livestock. While not competing in formal training events, she shows many qualities which are valued by Sprite tervuren for performance animals. These include high play drive, excellent energy, good pack drive, sociability with everyone including strangers and children, athleticism, adaptability and stability. She also shows no dog aggression.
"Baloo" (Sprite's Hullaballoo) is a product of Sprite's "H" litter (Soja x Quake). While still young, Baloo is showing strong promise in his training for both AKC obedience and schutzhund trials. Baloo has many of the best qualities of both of his parents; excellent energy and drives, focus, trainability, intelligence, athleticism, high play drive, courage and sociability. His bite is hard and full for schutzhund and his tracking is quiet and intense. Obedience is lively and accurate.
This litter of three boys and three girls arrived March 25, 2009. Molly Butler is the breeder of this litter, which will be co-bred with Sprite. Find more information on the "K" Litter page.
"Raika" - Sprite's Eureka SchH2 CDX TD - Raika has excellent energy and drives for all three phases of schutzhund. In tracking she is hard working and in high drive. In obedience she shows her dam's influence (Soja) in the accurate, flashy picture she presents. And in protection she shows hard, full mouth grips, intense eye contact with the helper, balanced drives (prey and active aggression), natural love of fight, and superb self-confidence. Raika brings these qualities and more to her current training in SAR.
"After" - After des Loups Mutins FR3 - After is a handsome, highly successful ringsport dog, with pronounced self-confidence and energy, love of play, and excellent jumping ability.

The Sprite Breeding Program
If you are considering a Belgian Tervuren puppy, please consider that my breeding program focuses primarily on improving the performance qualities of the Belgian Tervuren rather than the physical show characteristics. However, these pupppies should have sweet expressions, proper coats with rich color and dark overlay, and somewhat longer bodies than found in show Tervuren you may have seen. I expect excellent construction (angulation, shoulder, neck).
